Vanilla #16

Author: Regret
Rating: G
Story: Three Graces
Challenge: Vanilla #16 - Unexpected Luxuries / Simple Pleasures
Extras: Pocky
Word Count: 100
Summary: Meena realises it's not just music she enjoys.
Notes: This just kind of turned up so... I thought maybe I should write it. Also, if anyone remembers her from the first stories (unlikely), she's now 18...

Cas and David both warn her it’s like nothing she’s used to. She disagrees, but likes them both too much to argue outwardly. They’re only concerned for her.

Really, it’s everything she ever loved. The beats that course through her body. Pounding her heart. Strumming her heels. Club music’s just the sounds she grew up with, but louder. More encompassing.

She feels safe too. David’s drowning his memories but Cas is there. Solid, steady. She can indulge, let loose, let the rhythm take over. Everything she loves, exalts in. Knowing Cas will be waiting.

Somehow that’s better than the music.

Hehe, the whole Meena/Cas thing kind of broadsided me during NaNo, my poor friends had to put up with me going "what the hell just happened??" so it's nice to be able to take my time writing it and explore it a bit more now. :) It's fun, even if it's also headache-inducing!

Great details and word choice. It says a lot in 100 words.

I love the challenge of trying to fit things into 100 words, even if I fail a lot and it's not something I find easy, so thank you, I'm glad you like this! :D

I remember Meena! I also remember that she and Cas did not necessarily get along the first time they met. But I really really like the idea of Meena/Cas and am very interested to know how they got to this point! Great job.

Haha no, her six year old self did not take well to him at all! (That's one of the things that made this whole realisation during NaNo so traumatising! *lol*) I'm glad you're looking forward to it though - so am I, haha. A couple of extra realisations following NaNo mean I get to basically rewrite everything so I can explore this a little better and less hurriedly. :)
