hey introduction post

Hi, guys! You might have seen me lurking around and leaving comments on your stories. I decided just to suck it up and join officially since I always need more motivation to write and kind of miss writing original stuff.

As an intro to the verse I'm writing in, I guess I'll say it follows a brother and sister through a life that's more fantastical than realistic. So while it might occasionally seem like reality, you might have to accept the occasional "oh, of course there's a dinosaur skeleton in the desert that all the kids play on" or "oh yeah, once a year the pollen from this plant makes everyone go crazy for a week," etc etc. Most of my stories will probably take place in the fictional desert town of Painted Valley.

Go behind the cut for a cast list from the "Painted Valley" era of the story and oh yeah...pictures of each character. Cause haha, of course I had to draw everyone :D It helps me get a better grip on the characters.

Dee and Jason are brother and sister. Their (white) father claims to be a Shaman, and travels around the country performing rituals for money. He also claims to talk to their dead mother's ghost. Dee thinks this is awesome, but Jason's more skeptical. They accompanied their father on the road when they were younger, but he wanted Dee to finish high school in one place, so they wound up in the desert town of Painted Valley staying with their aunt, Christine.

Jason is three years younger than Dee. He considers her both his best friend and worst enemy.
Malila is Dee's closest (and, let's be honest, only) friend in Painted Valley. She may or may not believe in Shamanism, and still thinks Dee is weird, though. Her father is Navajo, but her name is Miwok and means something like "salmon swimming up stream." There are no streams in Painted Valley.
Mosi is Malila's little sister. She's a year younger than Jason. She likes to go exploring in the desert and has a knack for finding strange things.
Christine is Dee and Jason's aunt, who is in her late 20s and works at the Raindancing Bar at the Red Tail Hawk (the town's only entertainment center/casino). She and Dee don't really get along; Dee thinks she's condescending.
Howie is Jason's closest friend in Painted Valley. He was raised by wolves. He still spends time regularly with his wolf family.

As for my challenge list, I think I'll take Mocha. It sounds delicious.

Hey, Falootin! Glad to see you're joining! :D The characters and setting seem interesting, and the sketches are-- of course-- awesome sauce. For some reason, I've already taken a shine to Malila, even though I know so little about her.

So welcome, welcome!
