Notes: So, it seems like forever since I've written a Valorverse piece, and so much about Machiatrellos has changed in the canon that I felt I absolutely needed to change him here, too. Concrit welcome.

For the first time, Machiatrellos was powerless.

No matter how hard he tried to resist, she just kept coming back, like cold waves beating and lapping at his feet, the current pulling him underwater when he least expected it. And worst of all, she was always there.

“What's wrong?” Despite Machiatrellos's best efforts to keep his discomfort hidden, Mattaso was always able to see straight to the matter. Damn him.
