“I see you’ve found Kairn’s old collection.”

Tristan looked up from the spread of maps before him as Sethan approached. “They were just on the shelf there. Should I not-”

Waving him off, Sethan leaned in over the table. “What are you’re looking for?”

“I’m not sure. I keep having the strangest dream. She wants me to go someplace called Bernaux. But damned if I can find it.”

“You won’t. Bernaux, if it ever existed at all, was destroyed a thousand years ago. It should be near here.” He laid a finger on the page.

“In the mountains?”

“Under them.”

Also, I'm curious about the 'she' referred to here and Tristan's sure gonna have fun with that trip...

I liked it too :)

I don't know if you're familiar with Sethan and the god in his head, but Tristan has one too. I think this time around I'm going to make her a bit more prominent than the was before.

Ahahaha, this explains a lot to me as well. I was asking myself as I read "oh yeah, this is that god in the head thing, isn't it?"

I wonder if she knows about the "underneath" part. Or just doesn't care.

When I saw the prompt, I thought it had to be a god in the head scenario, I just had to pick which one

This is a newly developing storyline for Tristan so I'm not sure yet exactly how it's going to play out but I suspect she doesn't care.

Ah, yes, I did know about Sethan and the god in his head, but I didn't realize Tristan has one too! That makes so much more sense :D

There are six of them - Sethan, Rune, Lyssa, Ski, Tristan, and Roul (who I haven't written much about). Some are more talkative than others. I don't think Lyssa or Ski's say anything at all (though that could always change)

he's hopefully getting a role to play now in the grand scheme of thins, which just might involve him going on a lengthy journey to a whole bunch of places

I'm going to try my best to keep going and flesh out some new parts of the story. I've been trying to figure out forever what to do with Tristan and now at least I have a vague idea.
