Kairn lifted the sword he had been examining and cocked his head beneath it to peer at it from an awkward angle. “You know, it has been awhile. Let me see… I’m pretty sure I cut things with this side.”
“Very funny.” Rune glowered at him. “Now, would you put it away before you hurt yourself.”
Kairn snapped back to attention, thrusting the blade into its scabbard and scowling. “You’re going to have to get over it.”
“Get over what?”
“Me. I’m not as stupid as you wish I were.”

I have no idea where or how it will happen, but I would love to get Rune and Kairn stuck with each other somewhere late in canon. Needless to say, neither would be terribly keen on the other.
